Hi everyone, I’m writing with a full heart.

Because of your generosity, we’ve successfully saved the shelter. Every donation, every purchase, every message… it all added up, and it truly changed everything for these dogs.

I’m 82 years old, and my wife Prudence and I have spent years running this small animal shelter from our farmhouse north of Melbourne. Many of the dogs who arrive here come in scared, abandoned, or simply forgotten. For a while there, it looked like we were going to have to close our gates for good — funds were running low, and Prudence’s health has been getting worse.

But you showed up.

You kept food in their bowls, paid for vet visits, helped us cover the basics, and gave us the breathing room we desperately needed. Because of you, the dogs still have warm beds, safe hands, and a place to heal.

We’re now focusing on rebuilding properly — catching up on medical care, restocking supplies, and making small improvements around the shelter so it can stay open long-term. Prudence and I are taking things one day at a time, but for the first time in a while, it feels like we’re not doing it alone.

If you’d still like to support the shelter, I’m continuing to make my stained-glass pieces by hand, along with thank-you cards — and every dollar goes straight back to the dogs and their care. No pressure at all. Even just sharing our story helps more than you’d think.
